Technical Education is the backbone of every nation and is the stepping stone for a country to move into the niche of a developed nation. Govt. Polytechnic College Kathua was established in 2012 under scheme “Sub-mission on Polytechnics” in which Government of India sanctioned 18 Polytechnic for each uncovered district of J&K. This institute started functioning from the temporary accommodation in the Building of Kartar Education Trust, NH-1A, Barnoti, Kathua from July 2012. It is one of the most prestigious institutions of learning in district Kathua and is running with innovation, creativity, human intelligence and patience. The mission of this institute is“Service to Human being is Service to God”.
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to this institute which is the first one among all the newly established Polytechnics in 2012 to launch its own website. This institute have well equipped labs, Computer Centre and library to help students in attaining highest standards in academics, research and professional skills.
Creating better human beings’ is our motto and we can do that when we are able to mould our students to be good human beings with values which are embedded for life. We aim to provide an overall development that nurtures them towards becoming strong and focused human beings. We are organising various camps/ functions in the Institutions such as career counselling, awareness, job placement etc. and arranging various industrial visits for students for effective technical learning. Soft skills and educational skills is what the institution seeks to provide every student at the campus itself.
The main focus of the Institution is to empower students with sound knowledge, wisdom, experience and training both at the academic level of Engineering and in the highly competitive global industrial market. The infrastructure facilities and state-of-the-art equipments combined with a galaxy of competent, talented and dedicated faculty contribute to an enjoyable and an easy learning experience.
